the plan, if we can…

Yes, this is the plan –
to motor down to Sablet for the first time in 2021 (left) and, if we are fortunate, the way we hope to return to our blighted isle (right). The dates are pretty much fixed. Had to be, due to 'circumstances'. You'll need to dust off your Michelin A4 wiro-bound Atlas of France to make sense of the above, naturally.

We will travel under the cloud of being EU citizens no longer, and the further, more intrusive cloud of Covid restrictions from
a) the country which has messed up more than any other in Europe, i.e. our own, and
b) La France, who can't sort itself out Covid-wise either.

We think we've got all the permits, tests, certificates, Q codes and bookings required (although at time of writing we've yet to secure hotels… we are just holding on to the situation of spare beds therein continuing to be available once we are over the water when we feel we might risk booking). Oh yes, and we had to get a PCR test which must be negative, unsurprisingly, for 72 hours. Will all that get us on to the boat? Which is paid for, up front as it were?

No doubt the next post I put together will relate whether and how we managed in this endeavour. In the mean time we are trusting in God (who he?) and keeping our powder dry…
